The multiplayer of MW3 has exceeded all expectations. Your character will face various situations during the gameplay that will keep your attention and make your experience anything but boring. Extremely responsive and well-balanced firing along with the challenging battlefields will keep players alert till the end. Fierce combats take place on beautiful landscapes and setpieces. The campaign offers a lot of similar excellences and downsides as the first two parts did. The release got $1 billion in sales throughout the world in the first 2 weeks and became the biggest selling game of the month in the U.S. A not very memorable story line of single-player campaign and the absence of innovations were mentioned among the negative sides.
Most of the critics’ reviews for the game were positive with the compulsion of its gameplay, tons of content and excellent sound effects being pointed out. The official release date in North America was set for November 8, 2011. I HIGHLY suggest waiting for it to go on sale btw, I want them to get AS LITTLE MONEY AS POSSIBLE because they are one of the worst game companies to exist, next to EA.This great first-person shooter video game, developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer, is the third game in the Modern Warfare series. If this game had controller support, honestly the PC port would be the definitive version. But I've semi-adjusted and still had quite a blast. It's extremely hard to adjust to PC only controls, especially on a gaming laptop.

Now, regarding the PC port itself, I much prefer the PS3 version of the game. And playing it with my best friend was truly an incredible experience that I never got to have when I was younger.
I kid you not, I could not give TWO ♥♥♥♥♥ about the story or anything else. When I was a kid, this is one of the things I always played. My favourite mode that has ever been in a call of duty game, Survival, has NEVER made a return after this title. For two, there's one huge reason why I decided to go back to this entry in specific. So this is the first time I've bought and played one in forever.įor one, I made sure to wait for it to go sale. It had been years since I've played a COD game, last time I did it was Black Ops 1 and 2 on PS3.

And same as the predecessors, despite the solid gunplay, I don’t see any reason to replay the campaign aside for nostalgia.Īlthough in my full opinion, I think that every call of duty game starting with ghost beyond are awful. It also didn’t bring any new gameplay and mechanics to the table.
I bring this up because with the muzzle flash, the mushy color palette (in some levels), and the camera shaking and motion blur (can’t be turned off), the vision can sometimes get so overwhelming that you just can't identify enemies. On the flip side, the graphics are not updated and are identical with Modern Warfare 2. It is much more organized, less chaotic and exhausting, and I viewed it as a step up, though it comes as a cost of shorter playtime – I wish it can be 6 to 7 hours long instead of less than 5 hours. I don’t understand why some people don’t like linear design, in such a game, linear design means you don’t have enemies in every one of your directions and you won’t die not knowing what killed you. In terms of level design, Modern Warfare 3 is significantly more linear than 1 and 2. One thing I don’t like is some of the dialogue has cheesy, over-the-top soldier tones, but that is fairly minor and more of my nitpicking. I always like how they constructed the plot and make it whole and realistic by switching different narrators, and I appreciate the story is much easier to follow compared to Modern Warfare 1 and 2, since those two games put you in some levels that have little to do with the main plot for the sake of level diversity – though it makes MW3 (4.9 hrs) much shorter than MW1 (6.6 hrs) and MW2 (7.5 hrs). I won’t say it is great because it is still just a shallow blockbuster story, but it has a good number of twists, a great presentation, some powerful moments and memorable characters that carry emotional weight - depending on how much you are emotionally invested. That said, the story of MW3 (also the entire trilogy) is pretty solid. It is probably because he was actually experiencing the story, whereas I just “went through” it to satisfy my curiosity. But it turns out the story doesn’t have the same emotional impact on me as on him. The reason I played the whole Modern Warfare trilogy is one of my best friends told me he cried over a scene (Soap’s death) in Modern Warfare 3 back in 2011.
